About Fraser's Hill

ABOUT FRASER'S HILL

Fraser's Hill is a hill resort which rises 1,500 meters above sea-level on the Titiwangsa mountain range of Peninsular Malaysia. It is one of the least developed hill resorts and is also the prettiest of the Malaysian Hill resorts. Fraser's Hill is named after Louis James Fraser, a Scotsman who prospected for gold in Australia but eventually struck tin here instead in the 1890s. The tin ran out in 1913, but the lush valley within was rediscovered as a colonial hill resort. It is located 105 km north of Kuala Lumpur which is about 2 hours drive by car. Fraser's Hill is truly an idyllic place for one to rest and to escape from not only the heat and humidity but also the hustle and bustle of city life. It is also popular with the local and foreign tourists for its greenery, forest walks, fresh air, bird life and exotic flower gardens.
